How deep do you really get into vector groups

Quick question for the crew here: how much do you really get into vector groups when you're out in the field?
I know the basics like matching vector groups on transformers to avoid circulating currents or phase issues but every now and then I run into a situation where someone throws around terms like Dyn11 or Yy0 like we're all electrical engineers. I get why it's important, especially on parallel operations or backfeeding setups, but honestly, most of the time I just go by what the nameplate says and make sure it matches up.
Do most of you dive deep into this stuff, or do you just trust the equipment is set up right and move on? Do I need to do more
 
When it comes to parallel setups or anything more complex knowing your vector groups like Dyn11 or Yy0 can save you from big headaches. Its not something you need every day but having a solid grasp definitely helps when things go sideways.

It's like knowing what different types of bolts are for. You don't need to be a metallurgist to use a Grade 8 bolt, but you know you need it for heavy duty applications. Same with vector groups, you know when to be extra cautious and double-check, even if you're not doing the full phasor diagram analysis every time
 
Most just check the nameplates and make sure the vector groups match to avoid problems, that usually does the trick. Getting into the details like Dyn11 or Yy0 mostly matters for tricky setups like parallel runs or backfeeds. Unless you're dealing with that stuff often, its fine to trust the gear and just keep it simple.
