How's the lineman life and schedule?

I'm 21 and working for a municipal crew, thinking about jumping into an IBEW apprenticeship in Pennsylvania. Folks say it's long hours and nonstop but is there an actual rhythm to it or is every week a toss up?

I definitely wouldn't have made it as a lineman when I was younger. Used to see bad weather as the perfect excuse to skip work, kinda like rare snow days around here that shut everything down, and I'm all for it. Good luck!

Appreciate that! No doubt the grind is real, but I'm ready to take it on. Bad weather days sound nice until you're the one keeping the lights on. Guess there's no skipping work when the stakes are high. Have you ever considered getting into the trade or just admiring it from afar?

What's the typical schedule like once you're in, do jobs follow a steady routine or does it totally depend on the contractor and project timeline each week?
