Need info on wire size

I'm running 120/240V single phase out to a farmhouse that's about 825 feet from my 200A 3-phase Delta service (high leg on C). I'm planning to drop the C leg and just go single phase. My question now is: will 3/0 aluminum still work for 100 amps over that distance, or do I need to size up to deal with the voltage decrease? TIA.

With a length of 825 feet and a current of 100 amps, 3/0 aluminum wire might not cut it since you'll likely experience too much voltage drop. It's probably a good idea to upgrade to at least 250 kcmil aluminum to ensure everything runs smoothly. Do you have precise voltage calculations in place?

What's your acceptable voltage drop target, around 3%? That'll help decide if 3/0 aluminum is enough or if you'll need to jump to 4/0 or even 250 kcmil for reliability

3/0 aluminum might cause too much voltage drop on your single phase line. You'll probably need to go up to 4/0 or bigger to keep things running smoothly.
