So, I'm trying to get some info on High Voltage Cable Inspection, and honestly, it's a bit of a rabbit hole out there.

I'm hoping some of you seasoned pros or folks who've dealt with this before can point me in the right direction.

I'm basically looking for some good recommendations. When it comes to checking out HV cables, what do you guys think works best?

Are there any specific services, companies, or even types of inspection methods you've had really good experiences with?

I'm open to hearing about anything, whether it's for underground cables, overhead lines, or even industrial setups. Just trying to figure out the best way to make sure everything's up to snuff without breaking the bank or going down a bad path.

Spill the beans! What's your go to for reliable HV cable inspection?

Partial discharge testing has been the most useful for HV cable extension in my experience, especially for underground runs, for overhead, lets say a combo of thermal imaging and visual inspection usually does the trick just fine

HV cable inspection can get tricky, but partial discharge testing and thermal imaging are solid ways to catch problems early. For underground cables, TDR works well too. Lots of people use companies like Doble or Megger that offer a mix of services depending on your needs and budget .
