Thinking about becoming a lineman

My buddy and I were talking about switching careers, and the idea of becoming a lineman came up. We're both in our 30s and curious about what the job's really like. How's the training, pay, and day-to-day work? Anyone here willing to share some insight or advice?

Hmmm. Honestly, it's difficult work but the pay and brotherhood make it worth it if you're built for it. The training can be intense, and the weather doesn't care about your schedule hahaha so brace yourself for that. Nothing so bad all in all and I'm sure you'll thrive.

Training is no joke, hope you're aware of that my bro, expect to get dirty, sore, and humbled pretty quick and its legit a whole lifestyle shift, have a friend who dropped out of it some time ago, not saying it to discourage you or anything but just be prepared and I guess after apprenticeship phase, the pay becomes more decent

My cousin's a lineman and he says it's one of the toughest but most rewarding jobs out there. Lots of physical work, climbing, and safety protocols. The day-to-day? Expect long hours and unpredictable weather, especially after storms. But if you like working outdoors and solving real problems, it's a good career path!
